The transition is always so jarring. My brain has aligned with the order of Sunnyvale, no matter how boring and has begun to generate some alpha waves that are enobling to the soul of my well being.

I can ignore the noise, but what is to be said of the guy who has some labourers and carpenters working in the house behind mine for the last year who now insist on working well into the night. I scream at them at 1230, they stop. Only to begin again at 130. Whats to be done. When confronted the next day, there is no remorse, only defence. They couldn't care less. They know the law is too weak and the implementation is even more mortal ... and was, many years ago.

Location is everything, and hyperlocal location is even more. Karma be damned.

sound-proofing options!?

invest in a getaway far from it all!?

move to sunnyvale?

sound proofing- done, that, still wont help with blocking carpentry sounds at 2AM

getaway - yes, good idea, somewhat impractical given I have to work

Sunnyvale - well, its the economy or the company or some force which decides. not me.

You should insist he not do it. And file a police complaint if not. I am sure there is a law that disallows that at such odd hours.

We take things too easy, that's the problem. It's fine to have conflict with morons like those.

Yes Arun is right... You should file a complaint. It works. Our next street lady was over enthu about her new music player and she blow off the 2 streets day and night with loud volume. Just a simple complaint helped.....:)

Thanks all,

Really appreciate the candid comments.

After my showdown and piece of my mind delivered in terrible hindi, they seem to have backed off ... touchwood.

Terrible Hindi haan....? Just wondering how terrible was it. You beat the police threats!!! WOW...LOL:)

Unfortunately Hindi is the only language those imported labourers speak. I had to threaten them with police complaints etc. what a nuisance.
